Another Successful Event: Adon Live in Concert
by Cindy

Adon Live in Concert, which was held on Saturday, 27 September 2008, was another successful event hosted by Bethany International Church New Zealand (BICNZ). This time, it was Youth Bethany Auckland who was in charge of the whole planning and running of the event. Led by Raymond Waas as the Youth Leader, the team did a good job, from creating and distributing promotional materials to ushering the crowds and making sure everything went perfectly as planned.

The concert started with Adon singing his hit song, Kuberserah (I Surrender), which spoke about total surrender to God. The crowds sat still as the Indonesian singer sang another worship song and began reading Psalm 57:9-12.

Then it was the time to kick the drums and blasted the bass as the song made famous by Hillsong, One Way made the crowds jump up and down. Everyone was singing, dancing, and shouting for our Lord. Yes, Jesus! You’re the only one that we could live for! You are the way, the truth and live, we live by faith and not by sight. We’re living all for you!

As the song Friend of God came, Adon asked everyone to hold hands and began jumping up and down while singing. The backup singers were a little out of breaths from the singing and the jumping, but it was worth it. We were sure that God was there with us. He was smiling down at us. He was sitting on top of our praises and worships.

This concert was also made special because it was Raymond’s 22nd birthday. During the break, Adon sang Happy Birthday and a cake was brought in by Raymond’s younger brother, Hemi. Raymond was speechless, but he still managed to blow all the candles. After that, Pastor Thomas Wahid came onto the stage and we all prayed together for Raymond. That would surely be a birthday celebration Raymond would always remember.

After the break, Adon wowed the crowds with another song he wrote, Kembali Pada HatiMu (Back to Your Heart). This song was the theme of the concert. It spoke about the importance of coming back to God’s heart. Sometimes in this life we are too busy doing everything else that we forget the one most important thing for God – our relationship with Him. Through this concert, Adon wanted to share that special message to all of us. That God is an awesome God. Nothing matters except our relationship with Him. Come back to His heart, He’s waiting.

The concert ended after an hour and a half. Youth Bethany Auckland thanked Adon and everyone who had come, as they had made the evening so special. We also would like to thank our wonderful Father, without whom none of this would be possible. We hoped that everyone who came were blessed and they would come back to God’s own heart.
